The Morávka dam reservior

The valley reservior on the Morávka River was built in 1961-1967. The purpose for this water reservior was, in addition to increasing flow rates under the dam, decreasing flood flow rates and the continuous use of energy of the flow rate drained under the dam, particulary the supplying of potable water. The dam was damaged during the flood in 1997 and is currently in operation again after a general overhaul.

The valey reservoir at the Ostravice railway stop originaly intendet as a protection against floods, later as a supply of potable water for the ostrava industry and inhabitants was built in 1964-1969.

Television transmitter on Lysá Hora
Where: Lysá Hora Web: www.lysahora.cz Lysa hora measures 1323 meters and is the highest peak of the Beskydy. At the top of the weather station and the telecommunications tower. In nice weather is a beautiful view of the whole Beskydy, Mala Fatra and sometimes even to the Western Tatras - Roháče.

Radegast brewery in Nošovice

In 1965 the cornerstone for the brewery was laid and the first batch of beer brewed in 1970. This Moravian brewery got its name from the mythical god Radegast, who medieval Slavic tribes worshiped as the god of fire, the sun, harvests and hospitality. A statue can be found on top of one of the nearby Beskydy Mountains - Radhošť.
