The castle is surrounded by a game reserve that is often the destination of visitors to the birthplace of composer Leoš Janáček (1854-1928). Mufflon and fallow deer can often be seen in the reserve. Hukvaldy is a major cultural landmark and plays host every year to various events like the Knights Pageantry, Meeting of Spirits and many others.
